Knowing we had a night train to catch at 7:29, it was a challenge to find somewhere traditional when we hadn’t booked a reservation. We were lucky to get a walk in at a restaurant that had been recommended by many local people Getto Gulyas. It is situation near the Jewish synagogue and is in the area that was the Jewish ghetto from 1944 - many sad stories relating to that time.
I had a veal dish with a sour cream and paprika ( famous in Hungarian cooking) sause.
Peter had a traditional Hungarian goulash
Jordyn and I had contrails made with traditional Hungarian Palinka - spirit made with blackcurrant and loganberries.
