This morning we walked into town and went up the funicular railway to Ljubljana castle. It dates back thousands of years although parts of the present castle is only 500-1000 years old. The views over the city were great despite the mist settled around the city.
Inside the castle we could see where excavations had revealed artifacts from the past - old wells, fortifications, artistic frescos and also displayed historical memorabilia.
