Ljubljana Christmas markets

For lunch we sat by the Christmas tree in the centre of town and had local crepes, cevapi, roasted chestnuts and warm drinks. The tables have gas heating and are covered from the rain and snow. It is still cold though - today has a top temperature of 8oC!

we took a tour through the City Museum - which has artifacts from 40000 years ago when the area was just a marsh and the Roman and ottoman treasury of valuable remains. There was also a whole floor dedicated to a local designer and architect - with heaps of hands on activities our artist daughters thoroughly enjoyed. Peter however found it a perfect opportunity to catch up on some zzzz’s.

After a quick bite to eat back home we headed into town to view the Christmas lights. It is so nice to see the streets all light up with the lights. The river today was running very fast from yesterdays rain and added a lovely ambience to the evening. Still very cold - though not cold enough to snow yet.
